Mona Field, a longtime Eagle Rock resident and Glendale Community College Professor Emerita of political science, has a long familiarity with both local and state politics and is the author of "California Government and Politics Today", now in its 15th edition. Mona will discuss the pros and cons of the 14 state ballot measures, and share background on who is behind or against them.
Angela Gonzales-Torres is a lifelong Angeleno, the daughter of a deportee, and an equity and justice advocate. Her path from community organizer to congressional candidate reflects a strong commitment to uplifting immigrant and working families like her own.
Sarah Rascón, a member of Centro CSO, has spent her career building coalitions and turning ideas from our community members into projects that have improved community safety, climate resilience, and educational outcomes. She is a champion for amplifying the voices of working families and uplifting our underserved communities.
We could use volunteers: drivers, medics, traffic safety peacekeepers, day one starts 7am at Adelanto and final day, encouraging everyone to join us for a large action, Tuesday at noon for Godmothers of the Disappeared at the Federal Building around to MDC and going to Bilal Essayli's office for a directed action.

A sacred journey from Adelanto ICE Detention Center to the Metropolitan Detention Center and Federal Building in Los Angeles to draw attention and cry out for immediate action to end the deplorable conditions and deaths at the detention centers throughout California and across the country. Now is the time to end cruel immigration policy and ICE detention centers.

Powerful LA Vigil to Demand Justice for Lorenzo. Justice for Johan. Justice for All. ABOLISH ICE
On July 25, in downtown Los Angeles, a coalition of over 50 organizations and faith leaders gathered for a funeral procession to honor the lives of those murdered by ICE. This “Justice for All” action was initiated by the National Disappeared in America Coalition, with which we at NELA Alliance partner.
Over 70 coffins moved through the city—each one representing a life, a family, and a future taken too soon.
We are speaking out against ICE’s brutality and the elected officials who enable it. Thanks to the many hands and hearts it took to make over these coffins in a week, and paired with the ‘Killed by ICE’ placards as an undeniable visual of what is being done to our people.
