LA MONARCA – NO KINGS JUST MONARCHS – Game Day Action  FRIDAY August 15th. 4-8pm

Before the LA Dodgers vs San Diego Padres game

LA Art Activism's initial action in a new campaign! Sign up HERE

LA Art Activism, with NELA Alliance for Democracy and the Greater LA Pro-Democracy Coalition, calls out to all Southern California activists to converge onto the Park Row Bridge over the 110 Fwy, Elysian Park | Dodger Stadium adjacent.

Although all of us are heartened by the large Los Angeles protests against ICE raids and the broader Trump administration assault, we are disturbed by the larger, deeper historical biases and injustices that have allowed this administration to begin a fascist takeover of our country, targeting vulnerable communities. MAGA has used misogyny,  homophobia, transphobia, racism, extreme nationalism, the idea of "survival of the fittest", and a large network of disinformation to promote hatred and division. In addition, the new U.S. federal budget includes $175 billion for the Department of Homeland Security, with funds for thousands more ICE agents, border patrol agents, the building of new prisons, renovation of older prisons, and the expansion of the border wall. All of this while cutting basic services and programs that will impact and hurt millions.

The metamorphosis will be televised

(we will have drone coverage)

We will gather on the bridge for a banner drop and bridge party during the hours leading up to the LA Dodgers vs San Diego Padres game from 4 to 8 pm on the evening of August 15.  The Dodgers Stadium and Elysian Park adjacent bridge, spanning the 110 Fwy Southbound lanes at Academy Road, approaching downtown Los Angeles, is somewhat isolated but easily accessible by car and on foot from both sides of the bridge.  The bridge offers a safe, accessible, visually stunning demonstration platform from which to communicate our communities’ displeasure with a wide range of issues propagated by the wannabe dictator in the White House, who has hijacked our democracy.

Home Depot Boycott | Protest

Sun, Aug 24, 12:00pm-2:00pm – 2055 N Figueroa St, Los Angeles, CA 90065

Join us as we protest at the Cypress Park Home Depot. Sign up HERE

Home Depot is complicit in warrantless raids that violate the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution and have been prohibited by a federal court judge. We urge the public to boycott Home Depot as long as they’re permitting brutal immigration raids on their property.

We will have signs, sing protest songs (English & Spanish), tell stories of day laborers, and give shoppers local Hardware stores alternatives.

Home Depot has been the scene of many I.C.E. raids. with I.C.E. regularly taking Latino Day Laborers and Vendors off of Home Depot parking lots based solely on their skin color, language, and occupation.

Despite the pleas of immigration advocates, Home Depot managers have refused to prohibit I.C.E. raids on their premises. People on "migrant watch" who were looking out for the safety of day laborers, were asked to leave the premises of a Home Depot by a group of regional managers. Reports indicate that Home Depot is using Flock cameras to surveil Day Laborers and pass on information to I.C.E. The latest trick of I.C.E. agents to trap Day Laborers was to show up at Home Depot in a rental truck pretending to be contractors looking for workers. Workers were then handcuffed and loaded like cattle into the back of the truck.

Home Depot Manager Email-Writing Project - Get ICE Out of Home Depot!

NELA Alliance online action and action to support immigrant communities

Let your local Home Depot store manager know that you expect better and demand that they protect their staff, customers, and day laborers! Use our email template here.

We’ve compiled a list of local store managers’ emails in this document. (You can also call your local Home Depot to obtain the email address for the store manager.) Copy the template in the document, replace the highlighted info with your own information, and feel free to modify the email to reflect your sentiments before sending it on to your local store manager.

Thanks for helping hold Home Depot accountable!

STOP AVELO National Day of Action – JULY 27th 4 – 6 PM

Hosted by Indivisible CA27 and Nancy Klein | Organized by STOPAVELO.ORG National

Join us to Celebrate and Collaborate as we rise up to demand justice, accountability, and human rights!

Join us as we demand justice, accountability, and human rights! On the last Sunday of Every Month, we’re joining forces with STOPAVELO.ORG National and Defend and Resist, to protest in cities across the U.S. This is a call to action for anyone who believes in democracy, human rights, and the rule of law

Avelo Airlines has accepted a $150 million contract with ICE to carry out deportation flights that violate constitutional rights. These flights tear families apart and deny people their legal right to due process — a right reaffirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court. This is a cruel, inhumane, and illegal partnership, and we’re coming together across the country to stop it.
